What is the opportunity?
As a Redmond & Associates Assistant Warehouse Manager, you will be in the forefront of our day-to-day operations by playing an important supportive role for our warehouse manager. You will develop a wide range of skills as you aid in warehouse upkeep, storage inventories, tool crib surveillance, as well as machinery moving – the core service of our company! This position does not require a degree, but forklift experience is necessary. So is experience with a wide variety of hand/power tools. If you are the kind of person who enjoys learning new things, likes working with his hands, and needs to always to be doing something, you can build a great career with us as you learn and develop new skills.
What will you do?
- Load, unload and move industrial machines (ie. CNC Mills, Lathes, etc.), forklifts and other company equipment onto trailers within our warehouse.
- Assist Drivers to load and unload machines/equipment with the use of high-capacity forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Assisting our drivers in tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
- Maintain order and cleanliness of the warehouse.
- Track incoming and outcoming machines for storage, using our asset tracking software.
- Oversee the tool crib, the sign-out process and perform small tool repairs, as needed.
- Shunt tractor-trailers around, as needed (if able).
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Speak, read and write English fluently
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Min 1 year forklift experience
- Experience with a wide range of hand/power tools
- Positive attitude, discipline to work hard
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Punctual & dependable team-player
- Demonstrated passion for learning and growing, as well as success in hands-on work
Nice-to-have
- AZ License (for shunting/mechanic runs)
- Machinery Moving experience
- Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes
- Millwrighting experience
- Warehousing experience
- Familiarity with flatbed tie-down (to assist drivers)
