Millwright/Mover Trainee

What is the opportunity?

 

**This is an entry-level position, where someone would be given a path to developing the skills required to be a successful Industrial Machinery Mover/Rigger.**


 

**If you are an apprentice Millwright, this position will offer you the hours needed to complete your apprenticeship**

 

As a Redmond & Associates Industrial Millwright/Machinery Mover Trainee, you will be aiding your team with quick and effective assembly and disassembly of our customer’s manufacturing machinery. Although millwrighting is the primary role of this position, all of our millwrights are eventually trained over time to become a qualified Forklift Operator, Rigger and Machinery Mover as well. This position does not require certification, but any industry-related experience is valued. What will you do?

 

  • Dismantle, relocate and reassemble industrial machinery (ie. CNCs, Lathes, Boring Mills, Grinders, Lasers, Milling Machines, Presses, Shears, etc.)
  • Load, unload and move industrial machines (ie. CNC Mills, Lathes, etc.), forklifts and other company equipment onto trailers, on location and within our warehouse
  • Assist Drivers to load and unload machines/equipment with the use of high-capacity forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Proactively take ownership reporting equipment performance and resolving/preventing equipment damage/malfunction when possible
  • Assisting our drivers in tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
  • Diligently fill out paperwork & relevant reports relating to the days’ work
  • Proactively engage with clients on-site


 


 

What do you need to succeed?

 

Must-have

 

  • Millwrighting experience
  • At least 1 year experience with counterbalance forklift
  • Valid G License
  • Integrity & Character
  • Positive attitude & disciplined work
  • Punctuality & dependability
  • Demonstrated passion for learning and growing, as well as success in hands-on work
  • Drive and self-motivation, as well as excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Speak, read and write English fluently
  • Basic hand tool knowledge
  • Exhibit professionalism in manner and appearance.
  • Confidence and ability to learn all aspects of Machinery Moving

  • Flatbed tie-down experience
  • AZ Driver’s license
  • Machinery Moving experience
  • Rigging Experience
  • Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes
